Congratulations to Rat of the week winner
Nolan Redler (U16). Redler, the Winchester Mass native, put the U16 team on his back this weekend scoring 4 goals and adding 2 assists as the U16 team went 1-0-1 on the weekend. On Saturday against the 495 Stars the River Rats came out and played sluggish but Redler wouldn’t let the River Rats lose scoring 3 goals and adding 1 assist as the River Rats beat a pesky 495 Stars team 6-4 on the road in Marlboro. Maybe the sluggish game was due to the team looking forward to the showdown with the Cape Cod Whalers, felt by many to be the top 2 U16 teams in Massachusetts. The River Rats took a lead in the Whalers game 1-0 as Redler set up Dman Connor Moore for a goal, but the Whalers would respond with 2 straight goals taking the lead 2-1. Redler answered for the River Rats in the 3
rd period with a 5 on 3 PP goal to tie the game up at 2. The game would end at 2 and it would keep the River Rats undefeated against Massachusetts teams.
Redler on the season now leads the River Rats with 15 goals and is 2
nd in points with 25, trailing only linemate Brendan Shane. Redler and the River Rats get back to work on Saturday night at 6:30p as they travel to Brockton to face off with the South Shore Dynamo’s.
